Japan Weather News – Typhoon Jebi, Japan’s Strongest Typhoon in 25 years, hits Japan with heavy rains and winds

Yesterday (September 4, 2018, Tuesday), Typhoon Jebi, Japan’s strongest typhoon in 25 years, has made its landfall in Western/Southern area of Japan particularly in Tokushima Prefecture around noon time. The typhoon brought heavy rain and winds that caused storm surges, floods, destroyed buildings.

According to Japanese Public Broadcaster, NHK, there were at least 6 people died and 160 have been injured by the Typhoon’s landfall last Tuesday.

According to Japan’s Meteorological Agency, this was Japan strongest typhoon since the a strong typhoon hit Japan in 1993.
