Another Neputa Festival in Aomori City is the Goshogawara Tachi-Neputa Festival which is held annually between August 4 to August 8. Along with Aomori Nebuta Festival, Hirosaki Neputa Festival, and Kuroishi Yosare Festival, it is known as one of the four largest festivals of the Tsugaru region. The word “tachi” means “standing” in Japanese but the floats during the festival don’t stand rather, they tower above crowds and move. Tachineputa are 23-meter tall or 75 feet and 38000 pounds in weight.
