One of the summer festival held in the old castle town of Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture is the Hirosaki Neputa Festival. More or less. 80 Neputas float (fan-sized floats with epic and fantastic images of warriors) with different sizes parade through the town to the chants of Ya-ya-doh!. The main dress for both paraders and attendats is Neputa kimono with colorful sash around their shoulders that us pinned with small bells.
