Hiroshima Tōrō Nagashi or the Hiroshima Lantern Floating Ceremony is celebrated every 6th of August in the remembrance of the people who died in Hiroshima Atomic Bombing of Unites States on August 06, 1945. Evening ceremony includes the Toro Nagashi which is the releasing of floating lanterns in Motoyasu River near Hiroshima Peace Memorial. These floating lanterns symbolizes the journey after life. More or less, 10,000 lanterns float down the rivers in Hiroshima with words of prayers for peace.
