Hirosaki Castle Snow Lantern Festival is held annually every early February and celebrated for 4 days in Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture. This festival features large snow structures based on historical architecture and a large slide to entertain visitors at any age. At night, the pine trees of the Hirosaki Park are illuminated and the Tenshukaku which is covered by snow makes a great atmosphere. There are also mini-kamakuras (snow domes) which are lit with candles.
