Shigisan Tiger Festival is celebrated in Febuary because the month is traditionally known as the month of the tiger. The festival is held in a buddhist temple in Ikoma City, Nara Prefecture called “Chōgosonshi-ji temple”. This festival features a parade which has 50 tiger girls and boys or the young adult who are born in the year of the tiger. They parade with tiger mikoshi or the shoulder borne shrines together with traditional Japanese instruments and taiko drums.
