This annual traditional event on the 17th of January is a special Shinto ritual that is unique to Akita Prefecture is held at Mt. Taihei Miyoshi Shrine. Participants pray for bumper harvests, family safety and business growth.
It is best to arrive early, as the festival peaks at around midday. You can catch a bus from the East exit of the station to a bus stop near by the shrine.
