Shinjuku Eisa Festival is held very late of July. Eisa is a traditional dance that originated in Okinawan Islands, as a way to honor the island’s ancestors and pray for the well-being of families and the economic stability of the country. This festival consists of dancing and very distinct drumming style and traditional attire.

The event takes place around Shinjuku Station East and West exits, and runs from 12 noon until 8pm.
