The Izawanomiya Otaue Festival is one of the three major rice planting (Otaue) festivals in Japan along with the Festivals happening in Chiba Prefecture and Osaka. Locals called it “Omita” for short. This festival happens in June 24th of each year. They transplant rice in time with ancient music, then bamboo pulling and dancing-in are performed by youths while wearing magnificent old-fashioned robes.
