Held in Kyoto, Mifune Festival is an annual festival which takes place on the third Sunday in May in Kurumazaki Shrine, celebrates the recreation of the imperial boating parties held by the Emperor and his court during the Heian Period. This festival also features dances, music, and poetry recitations which are all performedon boats made in the ancient style.
