Danjiri Matsuri takes place in the city of Kishiwada, Osaka. Danjiri are Japanese floats that resemble small temples, these Danjiri are large and heavy wheeled carts. The Danjiri are wheeled around wildly by the festival participants.
In the past festivals there have been plenty of accidents and even deaths, in which some people say Danjiri matsuri is a deadly festival.
The Danjiri matsuri features 34 danjiri centered around Kishiwada Castle. At night time the danjiri are strewn with lanterns which make a beautiful sight.
