Spring season is finally over so is the Sakura and Wisteria Flower displays which only means one thing, Summer is finally here! You might be wondering what festivals and activities are there in Japan for Summer season. One festival that stands out is the Hanabi Festival translated in English, Fireworks Festival. Summer Firework Festival in Tokyo 2018 start in July until August.

Hanabi 花火 means “fireworks” in english and it is usually celebrated in summer from July to August. For most countries fireworks are widely used for New Year’s celebration, in Japan they don’t celebrate New Year with fireworks. So, the best way to see fireworks display in Japan is during Summer.

The Japanese are very serious about this festival, almost every year of the Hanabi festival people gather resulting to a vast number of crowd and jam-packed trains. If you are planning to attend a Hanabi festival, arrive early at the festival’s location to find a good spot.
