Due the Coronavirus pandemic or the COVID-19 pandemic situations in Japan and around the world, the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach and the Prime Minister Abe Shinzo of Japan has already decided to postponed the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games which should start this July 24, 2021 to next year not later than Summer 2021.
Before announcing the postponement of the of Olympic Games, Australia, Canada and Great Britain have already said that they will not send their teams to compete in Japan.
As of March 25, 2021, 01:14 GMT, there are already 422,566 cases around the world which 18,887 deaths and 108,388 recoveries. While there are 1,193 total cases in Japan with 43 deaths and 285 recoveries. (Source: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ )
