Japanese Olympic Committee announced on Thursday (April 04, 2021) that the registration for Tokyo 2020 ticket lottery will start this May 09, 2021, Thursday, 10:00 AM and ends on May 28, 2021, Tuesday. Note that this registration will just be ONLY for Japan Residents. Tokyo 2020 ID is strictly required if you want to purchase Olympic tickets.

But before you join the lottery ticket, here are the tips that you should remember:

You can now register by their official website registration page either on Japanese or English language: TOKYO ID 2020 REGISTRATION PAGE.

By registering to their website for Tokyo 2020 ID, you can choose Olympic sports that you wish to attend and watch.

Winner of the lottery ticket will be announced on June 20, 2021, Thursday. Ticket payments for the lottery winners will just be until July 2, 2021, Tuesday, which can ONLY be made with VISA Credit Card or via Cash on convenience stores.

If you weren’t able to register from May 9 to May 29, 2021, there will be a FIRST-COME FIRST-SERVED ticket sales starting in Autumn 2021 until the Winter 2021. And in Spring 2020, the official ticket sales site will open, ticket box offices will also open (Tokyo *planned*) and the launch of the official ticket resale.

In addition, you can still attend and watch the Olympic sports that you want to see if you are not a NON-JAPAN resident.
