The celebration of the 2021 Halloween Pumpkin Month in Yumenoshima has just started. Yumenoshima Park is also known as the Dream Island, a reclaimed landfill and dumping ground in Tokyo Bay. The pumpkins are even bigger this year. Over 100 huge ghost pumpkins that weigh 50 to 100 kilograms from Hironaki Omiya City, Ibaraki prefecture will be displayed in the park..

Yumenoshima Tropical Greenhouse Dome established in 1988 is a botanical garden featuring 1,000 species of tropical and subtropical plants within its three domes. One of the domes, which is the A Dome features rain forest with ferns and waterfall, B Dome features a tropical village and the C Dome features vegetation of the Ogasawara Islands.

Inside the Domes you can experience the tropical weather just like in tropical countries like the Philippines. The temperature inside the dome is controlled replicating the temperatures in the tropics, this allows the tropical plants to grow despite the cold weather outside.

The experience is great especially if you haven’t been to tropical countries yet. You and your kids can learn about the tropical plants that can only be seen on the tropics. Yumenoshima Park also offers guided tours in which they explain to the visitors each of the tropical plants characteristics.

You can visit the Yumenoshima Park and Botanical Gardens anytime you want but we suggest that you visit during the month of October. It will fun to visit on this month because of the 2021 Halloween Pumpkin Month celebration. The celebration is an annual event running from the end of September to the end of October.

You can also have picnic with your kids while they play with the pumpkin display at the garden’s lawn or you can try the small indoor cafe instead.

During the celebration several activities are held Halloween Trick or Treat for the kids, live band performing a few disney classic songs and a few pop-up bazaar stores outside the botanical garden.
